The Institute of Bioethics leadership coordinates Católica Doctoral School International Course on “Ethics and Integrity in Science”
As part of CADOS – Católica Doctoral School International Course on “Ethics and Integrity in Science”, the International Guest Speaker, Professor Nancy Preston, co-director of the International Observatory on End-of-Life Care, Lancaster University, United Kingdom, participated in the session entitled “Ethical challenges in international collaborative research”. Together with Professor Pablo Hernández-Marrero, Professor Nancy Preston explored the main ethical challenges and research governance when conducting international, transnational and cross-cultural studies, including research conducted in low-resource settings and developing societies. The session covered issues about research ethics and challenges when designing and conducting international studies across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Australia and Asia.
The International Course on “Ethics and Integrity in Science” is coordinated by Professor Sandra Martins Pereira, FCT Principal Investigator at CEGE (Research Centre in Management and Economics, Católica Porto Business School) and Dean of the Institute of Bioethics at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
This is the first edition of the course, which is designed to enclose a wide spectrum of disciplines, both among the national and international professors and doctorate students.
